Associate UX Researcher/Designer

We are seeking a Associate UX Researcher/Designer who can comprehend our business requirements and any technical constraints, and who will take on the responsibility of conducting user research, interviews, and surveys. This role involves translating findings into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and lo-fi prototypes.

About The role

As a mid-level UX Researcher/Designer, you’ll immerse yourself in the dynamic field of entertainment, focusing on digital music, broadcast rights management, cue sheets, data, and reporting. Your role will involve uncovering and exploring key industry needs, utilizing various research methods, and developing elegant solutions to complex problems - from service mapping to wireflows - while aligning with business goals, technology, and user needs.

You’ll collaborate with a vibrant, cross-functional team, including Product Designers, Product Managers, Operations, Development, Data Science, and Business Analytics, to enhance our services and products designed for both external  and internal users. As a key member of our Design team, you’ll follow established processes and ways of working while having the autonomy to drive your work forward. Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and Product Managers to understand and refine design requirements.
  • Facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching and user-testing experiences
  • Conduct qualitative research and usability evaluations; analyze findings to inform design decisions.
  • Facilitate and participate  in workshops and design sessions to support innovative solutions.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, user personas, and lo-fi mockups optimized for the music industry
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, Engineers and other roles to bring optimal results in a fast paced environment
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Some experience in UX design through internships, coursework, or entry-level positions.
    • Familiarity with UX design best practices, including qualitative and quantitative research methods and usability testing.
    • Basic proficiency in design tools such as Figma and FigJam.
    • Understanding of creating design artifacts like customer journeys, wireflows, and prototypes.
    • Familiarity with tools like Dovetail, Mixpanel, or Hotjar is a plus
    • User-centric mindset with a keen interest in learning and applying new skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive work environment.

Considered a plus if you can:

    • Deliver designs using a Design System.
    • Create prototypes in Figma.
    • Contribute to and enhance a Design System.
    • Show experience working in a multidisciplinary design team.
    • Demonstrate a metrics-driven approach to design.
