Our Story

Hello there. We’re Zopa.

We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. Find out more about our fantastic offerings at Zopa.com

We’re incredibly proud of our achievements and none of it would be possible without the amazing team here. It’s not just industry awards we’re winning, we’ve also been named in the top three UK’s Most Loved Workplaces.

If you embrace unconventional challenges, are unafraid to think differently and are driven to make an outsized impact, you’ll thrive here at Zopa, so join us, and make it count. Want to see us in action? Follow us on Instagram @zopalife

The Role
Already a long-established player in the fintech sector, Zopa has also recently launched an innovative new range of banking products including savings products and credit cards. If you’re the right candidate, you can play an important role in building the bank of the future using some of today’s most cutting-edge technologies. You’ll be working in a small, agile team with plenty of opportunities to learn from and exchange knowledge with your colleagues. The team has a flat structure, so you’ll be taking an active role in design and decision making within the team as we look to meet the challenges of evolving as a bank.

About you:

  • Have some hands-on experience writing back-end services. If you haven't used the JVM stack, then you’ll be able to learn this when you join us
  • Understand the importance of having a strong commitment to quality in all aspects of your work
  • Some experience with automated testing (unit testing, TDD and/or BDD) would be preferred
  • Be excited to begin or continue a career in the fintech sector
  • Enjoy reading and learning about software development practices and market trends. Evidence of this in an active GitHub profile would be great but isn’t required
  • Show a willingness to learn from and work with Senior Developers in the team, to help achieve business objectives
