Associate Scientist/Sr. Associate Scientist, Cell Line Development

Dragonfly Therapeutics is seeking a cell line development specialist who brings enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, scientific rigor and a desire to help drive novel cancer immunotherapy and autoimmune programs. The candidate must be independent, goal-oriented, flexible, and able to work efficiently across multiple projects.  The candidate should be an enthusiastic, and innovative individual who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.   This position will play a key role in collaborating with both the R&D and Tech Ops teams to develop, optimize, and integrate cutting-edge processes and technologies for cell line and process development. The candidate will interact regularly with both internal and external CMC functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral member of the mammalian cell line development and process development teams conducting key activities associated with cell line development including aseptic technique, transfection, selection, single cell cloning, high throughput screening, cell banking and cell line stability studies for Dragonfly’s emerging protein therapeutics
  • Experience working with single cell cloning and imaging technologies as well as a keen awareness of the current regulatory standards associated with these technologies
  • Carry out cell line screening and product quality analyses through methods such as BLI, HPLC, SEC, NR-CE, SDS-PAGE, and antibody binding assays
  • Perform comprehensive data analysis through Excel or other statistical analysis software such as JMP
  • Manage laboratory supplies and instrument maintenance
  • Ensure effective, high-quality, timely and appropriate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Author technical reports, protocols, and SOP’s and provide project updates via oral presentations
  • Author and review protocols, SOP’s, reports and regulatory filings to support advancing programs, keeping up to date with current quality and regulatory guidelines to support documentation and accelerated CMC timelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and external partners for successful execution/completion of projects

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or equivalent related fields with minimum of 2 years of demonstrated industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience in mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, and transfection methodologies required
  • Flexibility and willingness to expand current skill set and foster innovation
  • The candidate should be self-motivated, accountable, and have exemplary organization, documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends as required
