For one of our Oncology Discovery teams, we are now looking for an Associate Scientist to join our team in Mechelen (Belgium). This will be temporary position with a 1-year contract.

Scope of the job

You will be part of the oncology therapeutic area and member of a team performing cellular assays for drug discovery projects on therapeutic antibodies or other modalities.

Your role will be lab-based and your assignments will range from the experimental planning/design, to the execution of experiments in the lab to the analysis and scientific discussion of experimental results with oncology and/or other research project team(s).

Your role

• Contributing to one or more research projects, actively working on the design and set-up of your experiments
• Independently performing lab experiments following a detailed protocol or guidance provided by your manager and using multiple techniques and readout systems
• Performing the analysis of your experiments using advanced calculation and you interpret your own data
• Accurately reporting and documenting all experimental work in Lab Notebooks according to guidelines
• Reporting and presenting your work to your line manager and in team meetings
• Performing your research activities within the foreseen planning and timelines
• Following EHS rules to ensure safe laboratory practice and environment
