The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Associate, Safety and Security:
The Safety & Security Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the Safety & Security functional area for the LA28 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role will provide high-level administrative support to the Safety & Security team by facilitating communications, coordinating schedules, and managing daily operations while contributing to the overall success of the LA28 Games. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills. The candidate should possess the ability to be a fast learner, critical thinker, and have a “figure it out” mentality when encountering new or unfamiliar challenges while coordinating the daily operations of the Safety & Security team. This position reports to the Director of Security Planning & Integration.
Key Responsibilities:

Executive Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to executives, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and expense reporting.

Scheduling & Coordination: Manage schedules and organize internal and external meetings, conference calls, and events, ensuring that all logistics are planned and executed seamlessly.

Communication & Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining professionalism in all communications. Respond to emails, phone calls, and inquiries on behalf of executives as needed.

Documentation & Reporting: Prepare, proofread, and distribute correspondence, presentations, reports, and other documents for internal and external use. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Project Assistance: Assist with the coordination of special projects and tasks, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed to ensure project milestones are met on time.

Office Operations: Support the administrative functions of the office, including supply management, facilities coordination, and organizing office-related activities.

Event & Travel Coordination: Assist with the planning and execution of key LA28 events, including booking travel, managing guest lists, and overseeing logistics.

Data Management: Maintain and update databases, records, and filing systems, ensuring accuracy and organization in all documents while protecting document version controls.

Employee Onboarding: Support onboarding efforts and set-up for new team members.
Background & Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in an administrative or executive support role in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- The position is located in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required at least four days per week.

The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment, employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

Occasionally there may be a requirement for working hours outside of traditional business hours/days to support special events, travel, and the 2028 Games.
Position Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Certifications or specialized training in Project Management, Microsoft Office Suite tools, and/or Smartsheets preferred.
Expectations:

Experience supporting safety or security executives is preferred.

Experience working with the federal, state or local government is preferred.

Experience in event planning or large-scale project management is preferred.

Passion for sports, community engagement, or involvement in large-scale events.
Submission Requirements:
The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $80,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
