Catalyst is our largest analytical unit focused on the optimisation and modernisation of our methods and processes by leveraging technology, automation, and visualisation. The team is also responsible for developing and executing our custom productised solutions (NextGen practice) that allow us to answer our clients' critical business questions faster. Our research is varied in terms of geographic footprint. Typically, work will either be multi-country or global. For this reason, English language skill are a must. Additionally, there also a great deal of variety in terms of sectors – while the Research Associate will often be working with the big global FMCG players such as those in Consumer Finance, Home & Garden and Packaging, other key clients come from areas such as government organizations and trade associations. As such, work can be business-to-business or consumer focused. Requirements
· Curiosity with a passion for learning, problem-solving, and making a difference combined with flexibility, the ability to embrace diversity and be adaptable to change
· Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
· Excellent communicator with good listening skills and an openness to new ideas
· Team player with a collaborative and transparent approach, capable of working in a global environment
· Proficiency in English (with other languages an advantage), combined with a high level of numeracy and the confidence to engage trade sources for additional insights
· Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel, with experience of tools such as Power BI, Python, SQL and Tableau
DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Using a mixed-methodology approach - incorporating in-house data, relevant tools, external sources, interviews, and surveys - to effectively address client questions
· Planning, setting up and developing supporting materials for projects, including briefs and templates, as well as conducting preliminary research to create useful project documents
· Identifying key research sources, conducting interviews with trade sources and gathering inputs from both in-house and external sources
· Creating, editing and polishing compelling, error-free content, including headlines and analysis, as well as fact-checking and adding insightful information to deliverables
· Carefully reviewing inputs and research findings, creating engaging analysis and content for client deliverables, ensuring an appropriate style and tone, generating concise conclusions and strategic analysis, as well as conducting a full review of all content to ensure client objectives are met
· Analysing various large datasets and manipulating them as needed to create meaningful category/country trends, as well as monitoring, reviewing, and cleaning up data for internal and external clients, while maintaining records and resolving quality issues
· Run quality control and provide detailed explanations on sources and data triangulation and the why behind the numbers
· Overseeing the daily management of in-country analysts, including communication, scheduling, payment administration, and project material upkeep that allows for team accessibility
