Everbridge, a global provider of critical communications and enterprise safety solutions, are seeking an Associate Quality Engineer to be based anywhere in Hungary. This is a remote/home-based position that can be based anywhere in Hungary.
As a member of the Everbridge Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible for both functional and non-functional test coverage, including automated API testing. In this role, you will be embedded in an agile engineering team, where you will drive quality best practices into the application development process.
What you’ll do:
- Reviewing requirements/user stories for the purpose of identifying and closing gaps
- Designing, maintaining, and executing functional, performance, availability and reliability tests
- Prioritizing testing tasks based on project goals and risks, and ensuring that testing milestones, activities and tasks are completed as scheduled
- Monitoring testing to assess progress and communicate risks with stakeholders
- Provisioning and maintaining development and test environments
What you'll bring:
- Minimum 2 years software testing experience
- Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience with a high-level language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Java)
- Experience with scripting (e.g. bash)
- Experience with *nix systems
- Genuine curiosity and a willingness to ask questions. Ask a lot of questions!
- A willingness to contribute ideas to testing methods and tool selection
Bonus to have:
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle
- Experience designing, creating and executing automated test scripts
- Experience with load testing frameworks (e.g. Jmeter)
- Experience testing distributed systems
- Understanding of regression testing and risk-based testing
- Experience using deployment and software management tools
- Experience testing in cloud environment (e.g. Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS)
- Experience integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipeline (e.g. Jenkins)
- Experience writing SQL queries
- Experience with large datasets and associated tools such as BigQuery
- Experience with automation frameworks like Rest Assured, Cypress, and Selenium
- Experience with chaos testing
- Experience with high-availability testing
