Role Summary:
Veracross is seeking a self-motivated, passionate, and highly collaborative Associate Product Manager to join our product team. You will report directly to the Director of Product Management, Academics and Admissions and will be the product owner for a subset of the components of the company’s Academics and Admissions offering. You will plan and manage product development activities including discovery, product definition, product launch, and post-launch enhancements.
Job responsibilites:
- Following the direction of the Director of Product, coordinate with product development teams to realize product concepts and bring them to market including writing stories and acceptance criteria, working with designers and engineers to refine stories, and performing user acceptance testing.
- Partner across product teams to ensure successful implementation of platform level features.
- Promote a culture of autonomy, transparency and teamwork, while staying very customer focused.
- Establish close working relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners. Lead through influence.
- Serve as subject matter expert for assigned product and opportunity areas
- Translate product features into customer benefits and work with marketing to develop messaging and positioning for our sales organization and other internal and external stakeholders
- Build positive relationships and trust through on-time delivery, high quality, continuous innovation, and exceeding expectations
- Track results, provide insights, and make recommendations to improve customer experience, efficiencies, and ROI
Requirements
- Experience working at a school in the UK is strongly preferred.
- Experience with exams management or enrolment is preferred.
- Experience with the Veracross offering is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in a product management role or related field is desired, but not required.
- Solid understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
- Can clearly demonstrate high empathy through a proven track record of being an attentive listener, thoroughly grasping customer’s needs, and quickly building rapport.
- A strong focus on execution and ability to take command. Ability to juggle many moving pieces and strong prioritization ability. Success will be judged on what is accomplished and delivered, not what is proposed.
- Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with a variety of audiences within the organization
- Flexible team-player who can partner with all functions of the business, getting team members buy in and feedback with ease.
- Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to work independently in a fast paced, high growth environment.
- Experience with project management and software development software like JIRA, Basecamp, Slack, etc.
