The MusicianShip is growing, and we are looking for an Associate Manager - Education & Community Programs to help us inspire, educate and empower youth and adult emerging artists throughout the DMV. A dynamic and experienced music professional who has a strong understanding of youth development and education best practices will be an integral part of moving our mission forward.

Our Associate Manager - Education & Community Programs will focus on developing, implementing and evaluating youth and adult programs that include music education and performance, socio-emotional learning, and workforce skill building necessary to be successful in the entertainment industry. This team member will report to the Education and Community Programs Manager and work directly with schools, community centers, nonprofit and corporate partners, emerging artists, and youth to create exciting and innovative arts programs and curriculum.

Your Day Will Typically Involve:

• Collaborating with Education and Community Programs department leadership to develop and innovate TMS programs
• Facilitating cultural enrichment events for schools and families
• Managing and coordinating meaningful programmatic partnerships with nonprofit and corporate organizations
• Leading teaching artists in curriculum building, lesson planning, and professional development
• Observing active programs to assess for effective implementation of curriculum
• Supporting the Education and Community Programs department leadership in developing and administering stakeholder surveys
• Handling and maintaining a variety of youth and organization confidential data through collection and database oversight
• Recruiting for programs by facilitating and attending community events
• Engaging with seasoned performers and music influencers for educational initiatives
• Other miscellaneous administrative and programmatic tasks and projects as directed by management

Some Additional Details:

• Typical hours for this flexible, full-time, exempt position are Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM EST. This position may require occasional evening and weekend availability.
• We’re Hybrid! The MusicianShip’s office is located in Southeast Washington, DC, (Eastern Market) but most meetings occur virtually. This position should anticipate a hybrid work model (up 40% of virtual work and 60% of in-person work) that may take them to various programmatic sites and events in the DC Metropolitan area.

Requirements

What We’re Looking for in a Teammate:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience; 3+ years of experience creating music education and/or artistic development programming
• A passion for youth development and the arts
• Enthusiastic and open communication
• Strong networking and community-building skills
• Ability to pass a DCPS Contractor Clearance
• Vaccinated against COVID-19 or has a related exemption
• Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft Office

Compensation: $60,000 base salary per year
