About the Role:

The Associate Managed Services Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure of client environments. This role involves identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues and maintaining detailed documentation of client networks and systems. The engineer will stay current with industry best practices and work closely with senior engineers to confirm procedures before implementation in client environments.

The position requires collaboration within the Managed Services and NOC (Network Operations Center) teams to contribute to overall service delivery and technical outcomes.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor ticketing systems, service boards, inbound email, and handle inbound phone calls
  • Respond to requests and notifications following defined client-specific procedures
  • Self-manage assigned tasks in accordance with service delivery guidelines
  • Implement, and manage VMware and Microsoft-based systems, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365.
  • Configure and troubleshoot email systems (e.g., Microsoft Exchange and Office 365)
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate system tasks and manage Microsoft environments.
  • Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to support business initiatives and projects.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, and software issues
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Serve as an escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 Managed Services team members for service requests and incident response.
  • Participate in after-hours migrations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and on-call support as needed to meet client requirements.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve client problems promptly
  • Assist in generating reports and making recommendations for Managed Services clients
  • Interface with third-party vendors, acting as a liaison between clients and vendors
  • Provide post-implementation support for Advanced Technical Services teams
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional customer service
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new Microsoft technologies, and best practices for system administration.

 

Qualifications & Interests:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a technical position
  • Current certifications supporting relevant areas of expertise (e.g., Microsoft, VMware)
  • Initiative and ability to independently research solutions to technical problems
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft or VMware environments
  • Proven ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling critical issues
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with various clients and management levels

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
Estimated Pay Range
$50,300$70,400 USD
