To support the performance of the team with detailed analysis of the teams that are essential to the business operations, and the provision of strong information to support decision making in our team.
The Finance Partner is responsible for building strong relationships with the business to develop, report and ensure adherence to financial plans. This role requires flexibility, working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment and comfortable dealing with high volume of workload, and aware of the business’ EBIT and cost cap priorities.
The role will report into an experienced Business Partner and receive direction and support from them, while being part of a highly collaborative and empowered finance team.
This role will suit an individual beginning their career in finance business partnering and looking to enhance their skill set and future potential in a strong team.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Performing reviews of nominal ledger data across the People Team, Sustainability and Facility departments.
- Reviewing and analysing charges from our other entities and working collaboratively to access opportunities for future optimisation, ensuring those stakeholders feel important to achieving our objectives.
- Drafting variance analysis of actuals vs budget and expectations.
- Ensuring high quality data is available to work with and accounts have accurate information in them.
- Keeping forecasts updated and current.
- Working closely with the finance transactional teams to apply the correct accounting treatment to transactions.
- Reviewing projects for completeness of cost, and performing reviews of purchase orders to ensure accurate coding is applied.
- Posting of monthly journals.
- Preparation of analysis for review and presentation with the team.
- Ability to build trusted internal and external relationships with multiple stakeholders, delivering towards their objectives.
- Ability to provide insight that guides colleagues in recommendations and decision making in the short term that ensure long term success of projects.
- Recognise change in the organisation and adapt approach to ensure success.
- Collaboratively challenge agreements and current approaches to maximise value to the business.
- Maintaining forecasting and budgeting templates to ensure consistent expectations.
- Developing internal Power BI reporting.
- Developing robust budgetary controls.
- Formalising process in an efficient and effective manner.
- This role would ideally suit someone with an accountancy qualification and confident delivering insight to senior stakeholders.
- The role will require an individual willing to be involved in reviewing and analysing a manageable amount of data, pivoting this into useful information and carrying this through to insightful information.
- The role will benefit from the advice and support of a team of peers but will be an individual who works with stakeholders to provide insightful analysis.This will provide someone with a platform to grow their partnering skills, whilst becoming an expert in interpretation of data.
