The Associate Engineer will be responsible for bioMérieux commercial system PC platforms released from the St. Louis site. This responsibility includes evaluating new hardware (PC and peripherals) and technologies and proposing solutions, configuring the OS, applying latest cybersecurity counter measures, supporting the verification and validation of the system platform, assessing the impact of changes to the system design, and performing investigations related to hardware and OS related issues. In addition, the Associate Engineer will assist with assessing change impacts and recommending solution options.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist with the PC and peripherals selection process in collaboration with Global C&P.
- Troubleshoot PC, PC peripherals, and OS related complaints including leading root cause investigations and providing workaround solutions.
- Assist with PC and peripherals obsolescence planning including ongoing monitoring of existing company stock and vendor quantities.
- Accountable for proper documentation in accordance with design control.
- Research new technologies and provide recommendations for future product planning.
- Assist with monitoring current technologies to ensure any impacts are proactively mitigated.
- Monitoring of cyber security OS related vulnerabilities.
- Monitoring of cyber security MS Windows OS related vulnerabilities
- Assist with ensuring cybersecurity patches and configurations are applied to the supported system platforms.
- Assist with cybersecurity threat modeling and assessments to identify and incorporate counter measures.
- Assist with the definition of networking requirements.
- Perform PC and OS impact assessments of system/component changes including proper documentation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with creating PC, peripherals, and OS requirements and test cases.
- Experience with configuring new and updating existing Microsoft Windows OS platforms.
- Experience in Information Systems networking.
- Experience with assessing and applying cybersecurity controls as needed.
- Experience working in an ISO/FDA regulated environment.
- Ability to communicate professionally on the topic of a given product to a regulating authority.
- Capable of assisting with product and process quality monitoring and improvements as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
Education/Experience

Associate or Bachelors' degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Or Microsoft Certification
- 2 years of experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity related controls
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools – primarily Excel, Word and Outlook, but also Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Strong technical writing skills required
- Strong professional communication skills required.
