This is a remote or hybrid role with the expectation that you will need to be on site 2 days a week if you live near an office. 

 

Our Associate Directors are responsible for cultivating and maintaining successful client relationships along with managing a team of direct reports.

As an Associate Director of SEO, you will be responsible for managing your client portfolios to acceptable revenue and margin goals. In addition, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring your account teams, from production-level employees up to Sr. Account Managers, and leading internal process improvements.

 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing, training, and overseeing a team of account managers, associates, and coordinators to support SEO clients
  • Overseeing and managing the execution of SEO strategy across all owned accounts
  • Serving as the final QA step for all client deliverables on owned accounts
  • Recognizing upselling opportunities for other DEPT services
  • Manage development of deliverables, reporting, strategy implementation, and all direct communications with development resources, paid search team, vendor partners, and the management team
  • Keeping track of team and project hours to make sure team is staying on pace
  • Contributing to improving internal processes, including making improvements on standard deliverables and contributing to shared channel resources and company-wide resources
  • Creating and delivering SEO sales pitches with support from manager
  • Creating and delivering presentations and written briefs
  • Contributing to SEO marketing materials including producing case studies, whitepapers, and blog posts

You’ll need to have:

  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years’ SEO experience and experience managing large accounts with various goals; furthermore, you’ll need to have a deep knowledge of advanced SEO concepts including Javascript-frameworks, AMP, Deep Linking via App, SPA, PWA, and emerging SEO trends/technologies
  • Proven prior work experience managing a team of direct reports / team members and demonstrated ability to mentor and develop direct reports into more senior roles
  • A Google Analytics certification
  • The ability to audit client sites: know what to look for and know how to identify and resolve issues/errors
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills and be proficient in Powerpoint, Excel, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional things that will impress us:

  • A Google Ads certification
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript development and constraints
  • Successful track record of crafting and participating in sales pitches
  • Proven prior work experience managing a P&L and hitting margin targets

The anticipated salary range for this position is $87,100 - $137,900. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, physical location, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we're flexible.
