Associate Director - IT Technical Services and Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Technology Services to lead and manage our IT Operations and Technology Services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in building and managing robust systems while demonstrating exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills. This individual will play a key role in driving operational excellence, building and developing high-performing teams, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

The associate director is a full-time office based role based in Pakistan, working as part of a global team, providing support to 3000 end-users across 10 countries, delivering effective resolutions to technical and user IT issues, and providing an IT service that delivers to the business needs, whilst ensuring a robust, secure, and stable environment. Whilst leading the function, services and providing an escalation point, associate director will also be required to work on service improvements, alongside the team, to maintain an optimal level of services reliability and experience excellence to enable business transformation; ensuring effective working across the full range of services delivered, liaising with the business, IT & Security team, and 3rd party suppliers.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Building: Building and leading a talented team from the ground up, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Systems & Technology Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and management of highly reliable and scalable technology systems that support business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to align on priorities, deliverables, and ensure the delivery of high-quality technology services.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive efficiency in IT services through structured and systematic processes. Ensure alignment of technology services with business goals and manage service delivery to meet performance objectives.
  • Problem-Solving: Act as a technical expert, providing hands-on leadership to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance IT services.
  • Process-Driven Approach: Implement structured workflows, metrics, and tools to monitor team performance, drive results, and continuously improve service levels.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Ensure that all technology operations are executed within budget and manage resources effectively to deliver on both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure that all systems are secure, compliant, and meet the necessary regulatory requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related degree.
  • Excellent English communication skills with both, internal and external stakeholders, to achieve business objectives effectively. (≈ IELTS 7 or above)
  • Preferably some  IT certifications (ITIL, Prince 2, AWS/Google/Microsoft certified)
  • Strong technical skills - hands on experience in building and running technology functions 

Experience: 

  • Proven experience in building and running scalable IT systems with strong technical expertise in infrastructure and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, ensuring a high level of engagement and performance.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience collaborating across functions, delivering results, and driving alignment with business strategy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive, process-driven approach to tackling complex technical challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept at explaining technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
