We are looking for a passionate Associate Director to lead the supply side of our marketplace, and champion Block’s contractor network as a strategic growth driver for the business. We are laser focused on recruiting high-quality contractors in our target markets and working hand-in-hand with these contractors to enable them to win work in Block’s marketplace. At the helm of our Contractor Network team, you will shape and execute on network growth strategy, own contractor enablement and success, and be a core part of the team driving growth at Block. You will build deep relationships with our contractors and understand the ins and outs of their businesses, enabling you to be the voice of the contractor across the organization. You will work closely with our Product team to build impactful platform experiences for contractors, helping our network to build thriving businesses with Block.

What you will do:

  • Shape and execute the strategy for Block’s contractor network, attracting top residential contractors in our target markets and enabling them to win projects in our marketplace
  • Lead the Contractor Network team with a hands-on approach
  • Grow the contractor network by building a pipeline of strong candidates, running a robust vetting process, and onboarding qualified contractors through close collaboration and coaching
  • Establish trust-based relationships with contractors across the network and work closely to ensure their success in the marketplace
  • As a Growth leader, work closely with Block’s Sales team to match homeowners with the right contractors and enable contractors to win projects
  • Work closely with Product teams to build great platform experiences that help contractors succeed and grow their businesses
  • Be the voice of the contractor at Block and advocate for the contractor experience
  • Evolve the contractor network as a strategic differentiator and growth lever for Block
  • Act as a construction SME for teams across the business

What we are looking for:

  • 8+ years of professional experience, with a focus on Marketplace Supply, Partnerships, Project Management, Account Management, or other operational / strategic roles
  • Experience or interest in construction or adjacent industries; ability to quickly develop an understanding of general contractor operations and business fundamentals
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Ability to think strategically about and build a network of industry partners
  • Strong ability to build partnerships on a foundation of trust and mutual growth
  • Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally, including with Sales, Product, and Analytics teams
  • Equal strength in strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a strong commitment to driving results

This is a full-time position. Preference will be given to candidates who are enthusiastic to work a hybrid schedule based in our Brooklyn, NY office. 

Block wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual salary for this position is expected to range from $135,000 - $185,000. Actual compensation will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
