Associate Cybersecurity Engineer

The successful incumbent will be part of the COE-Product Security Engineering team, which is part of the larger Cybersecurity organization.  The COE-Product Security Engineering team primarily focus on engineering excellence and accelerated product delivery. Our strategy is based on a commitment to Security Product Engineering Excellence which streamlines and automates essential business processes such as threat modeling, penetration testing, and Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC). By shifting left, we enable our technology consumers to focus more effectively on product development. This strategic approach not only speeds up our delivery times but also ensures that our products meet the highest standards of security and quality, gaining a faster route to the market.

 

In addition to this, we also implement new security tools and products based on GenAI technology to boost efficiency for Cybersecurity and for our technology partners. We strive for excellence in all our security engineering endeavors and foster a culture of innovation. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of technological advancements, bringing efficiency and accuracy to our security posture.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Design, implement and evolve highly scalable and fault-tolerant distributed components using functional programming paradigm

  • Design, document and implement new systems, as well as enhancements and modifications to existing software with code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java best practices.

  • Participate in business requirements review and build functional & technical design documentation

  • Design and implement testing procedures for: APIs, abstractions and integration patterns to solve challenging distributed computing problems covering end to end tests and integration scenarios.

  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on functional/non-functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

  • Work across the team to ensure the team is predictable, productive, and delivering high quality.

  • Review code and accountability for team's development/testing activities

  • Participate in proof of concepts and other technical evaluations of new technologies

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 2 or more years of work experience
• 2-3 years of work experience in technology industry with strong programming skills
• Strong technical competency and experience with web applications, web services, Java, JavaScript,
• J2EE, XML, unit-testing, shell-scripting and RDBMS is a must.
• Knowledge of Java is a must
• Experience with Cassandra/solr/nosql experience as a plus.
• Experience writing and executing detailed functional test cases
• Must have experience in a technical capacity and quality methodology/release process/testing techniques in order to provide guidance and leadership to junior team members is required.
• Must have experience testing in an AGILE environment and should have exposure to testing environment migration, DB and infrastructure/system upgrades.
• Continuous Integration, Code/Test coverage working in different methodologies is a plus. Must have proactive and strong communications to work well across teams.
