W Costa Navarino is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager. The selected candidate will assist the Restaurant Manager in efficiently managing and overseeing the restaurant’s daily operations. They will provide supervision, training, and guidance to the team, ensuring high-quality service for all guests at all times. The candidate will effectively manage revenues, stock levels, staffing, rosters, and other budgetary requirements. Adhering to company policies and Brand Standards, they will be responsible for conducting quality and health and safety audits for the restaurant. Additionally, they will engage with guests to resolve any issues promptly and may participate occasionally in the selection of associates.
Responsibilities
- Manages daily operation requirements during all shifts.
- In charge of updating reservation systems and monitor daily business and availability. Coordinate with all parties involved (kitchens, restaurant reservationist etc.)
- Performs daily briefs for the team. Include all necessary daily info, quality & H&S standards, bite size trainings, motivate and encourage the team in a constructive way.
- Assists team members with their daily tasks when needed.
- Delivers high quality service to all guests offering memorable experiences at all times.
- Handle guest complaints effectively and follow up with all guests after resolution. Performs guest satisfaction checks and ensures comments are entered in relevant hotel systems (GXP etc.) and regularly updated them.
- Ensures departmental training plans are adhered to the company’s guidelines always liaising with the L&D department. Responsible for training or organizing training for the team on all daily tasks and other quality and H&S related requirements. Coaches and follows up constantly throughout the season.
- Maintains all company policies and Brand standards, trains, guides and checks that all team members follow them at all times.
- Establishes effective communication and cooperation with all other departments.
- Assist Restaurant manager with managing all revenues, cost of sales, labor costs based on budget and departmental goals.
- Perform daily inspections in Restaurant, Storage areas and equipment to ensure that it is clean, tidy and in proper working order and condition; ensure general cleanliness of floors, fridges and other equipment.
- Participates in Organizing weekly roster /vacation leaves etc. according to operational needs and company objectives and perform all HR admin tasks (Scan, Leaves, DRs etc.) accurately and in timely manner.
- Follows all H&S rules, hotel policies, SOPs and Brand Standards at all times. Update accordingly when needed. Guide and encourage team to do the same and ensure adherence. Responsible for all Quality and H&S audits for the restaurant. Ensures success and follows up on any missed standards/tasks.
- Attends all trainings and seminars provided by the company and continuously remain updated for all trends and market news. Encourage and empower team to do the same.
Requirements
- Two years of experience as Restaurant Team Leader in a five star hotel.
- Associate’s Degree (IEK) or two years technical certificate (Tourism& Hospitality industry)
- Proficient in PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Knowledgeable in MICROS and POS systems.
- Fluency in English and Greek is mandatory.
- Experienced in selling and upselling techniques.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- In-depth knowledge of wine and current food trends.
- Capable of multitasking and remaining flexible in various situations.
- Able to work effectively under pressure during peak periods and manage long or flexible shifts.
- Willing to reside in Messinia for extended periods or relocate long-term.
- Demonstrates a guest-oriented mindset and proactively takes action to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
