This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) / be eligible for SC Clearance (must have resided in the UK for the last 5 years), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions. 

The Role  

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference on a global scale? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy as Assistant Project Manager in the field of fusion energy. In this role you will play a pivotal role in planning and development of the build environment and site characterisation of the site. Supporting the project manager and overall planning for work on site. Including managing smaller site-based projects they will be a key liaison across site and between integrated project teams. 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Working closely with the site ops and facilities teams 
  • Scheduling work on site, and updating the plan 
  • Responsible for producing the weekly report 
  • Responsible for producing the programme board report content  
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed project plans and schedules. 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Responsible for project budgets <£0.5m 
  • A degree, or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in engineering, science, construction/property, or business change related discipline  
  • Experience in a fast paced complex environment, ideally with some event or construction experience.  
  • Strong technical skills with a focus on data management and optimization. 
  • IT literate, fluent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to generate and analyze reports to support decision-making. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Desirable Requirement: 

  • Programme or Project Management qualifications attained or working towards
  • Experience in managing and optimizing digital platforms, preferably in a project management environment Prior experience with Sensat or similar digital platforms.
  • Background in engineering, construction, or a related field.
  • Experience in the energy sector, particularly in fusion energy projects.
  • Familiarity with working on large-scale projects or events.
  • Demonstrated solo-working and team-building skills.
