We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Merchandiser to join The Very Group (across Fashion, Sports and Home). You’ll report directly into the Merchandiser for the area so lots of opportunity to further develop your skills.
Day to day you will be meeting and handling supplier and brand relationships, working closely with the buying and wider merchandising teams to develop commercial range plans suited to our customer. Analysing historical performance, market trends and competitor ranges to help create the best future plans.
We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, great attention to detail, has strong commercial acumen and a passion for data and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge and some experience of merchandising.
We know that our expectations are high, as are our ambitions as a business, so we are aware that one candidate will not have all of the below experience.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
· A retail professional with Merchandising experience.
· Good knowledge of excel.
· Strong with numbers – able to produce, analyse and articulate findings from reports.
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to establish relationships, internal & external - working cross functionally and collaboratively.
· Desire to understand the Very customer.
· Problem solving/critical thinking.
· Decision making skills.
· Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
· A great attitude and who is willing to learn.

1st stage - An informal 30-45minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the role and to ask any questions you may have.
2nd stage – A one-hour Task based Interview which is relevant to the BAU of the role followed by a Q&A.
