SEWS—El Paso Customer Service Center (Eastside). Although located at SEWS – El Paso Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least two days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Basic Purpose:
Supervise and develop Material Control Department members to have same level of performance and standardization of follow ups with customer and supplier, to eliminate material shortage, backorders and reduce number of critical material items. Improve Material Control Communication with supplier about critical material and minimize expedited freight cost. Evaluate performance expenses for the department and ensure that budget is met on a monthly basis. Strive to meet all department's goals and objectives. Maintain current and accurate data in production planning systems and related assets. Improve workplace and process efficiency, reduction of lead times and reduction of operating costs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise material control planners/customer service representatives & ensure that proper follow up is done in order to reduce line down cost. Evaluate current activities, process & develop cost reduction countermeasures.
- Set effective countermeasures in order to reduce number of material with low days on hand inventory.
- Be able to evaluate supplier back orders performance and perform proper follow up and strong negotiation with suppliers in order to improve this measurable. Reinforce the importance of back order control to the planners.
- Achieve Indirect Expense Budget. Monitor indirect salary expenses, eliminate OT premium, and maintain headcount within budget by maintaining an effective and efficient Material Control Department Organization.
- Evaluate transportation cost, minimize expedite freight expenses and achieve expedite budget on a monthly basis.
- Coach, motivate and encourage direct reports to meet Material Control objectives. Evaluate performance of all direct reports, provide feedback and address performance issues as necessary. Develop a high efficiency working culture.
- Keep track of performance evaluation records for material control planners and customer service representatives. Mobilize Resources to Support Strategy: Allocates and aligns resources to respond to strategic or cultural shifts.

- Control/Reduce Operating Cost: Identifies crucial cost levers and seizes opportunities to drive down cost.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Preferably in Business on related field.
- Experience: 8-10 years progressive experience, including 2-4 years as Superintendent or similar supervisory capacity. Automotive supplier experience highly preferred.
- Proficiency in all major software packages (Microsoft Office); Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Closely interaction with all customers;
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
