We are seeking an Assistant General Manager, Instrumentation Engineering to lead a team of highly skilled professionals in the design, modification, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems. Our Cement Plant is the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa with a capacity of 20 million metric tonnes and is a key player in our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the implementation of new technologies and will have the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most innovative projects in Africa.
Responsibilities
- Review Cement Mills & Additive Transport, instrumentation equipment’s maintenance projections and schedules.
- Ensure that equipment preventive maintenance programs implemented as per agreed schedule.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the programs, maintenance reworks and makes recommendations.
- Enforce standards and safe work procedures for the Cement Mills & Additive Transport and ensure regulations relating to the instrumentation department met at all times in Cement Mills & Additive transport.
- Provide training development and leader ship to Cement Mills &Additive transport, instrumentation personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or its equivalent in Instrument/Electronics & Communication Engineering or related discipline.
- 21 to 27 years relevant experience within a cement plant or manufacturing industry
- Professional Engineering Certification required
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Proficient in project management and procurement processes
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong technical skills in PLC, DCS and SCADA systems
