The Assistant Director manages admissions, enrollment, and student advising, in addition to planning and organizing all sessions of the Language School, in collaboration with the Director. During the session, the Assistant Director directs program operations, supervises non-academic staff, and advises the Director and faculty on College policies and procedures
This is a full time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $27.21 - $34.02 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:
- Makes admissions decisions (approve or deny) for applicants, conferring with the Director and/or Dean as needed.
- Advises students on admission, enrollment, financial aid, academic program structure, pre-attendance requirements, and student support services.
- Plans and organizes all sessions of the Language School, in collaboration with the Director.
- Directs all operational and administrative functions of the Language School during academic sessions.
- Supervises and trains non-academic staff.
- Advises Directors and faculty on ADA, DEI, Title IX, FERPA, and academic policies; liaises with offices that support these institutional functions.
- As assigned, provides operational and technical support to all Schools in areas such as IT system administration, housing, classroom scheduling, the LS doctoral degree, and assistance to the Dean’s office.
Requirements
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Willingness to take initiative and assume responsibility, but also work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated organizational skills; establishes priorities and synthesizes detailed information about programs, procedures, and requirements.
- Ability to define and analyze complex situations, draw valid conclusions, and project consequences of various alternative courses of action.
- Computer skills required MS Office and experience with CRMs preferred.
- Professional experience of 5-10 years in language education, international education, or a related field preferred.
- Undergraduate degree required, graduate preferred.
- Proficiency in target language preferred.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
