ABOUT THE JOB

The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Development Business Intelligence and Reporting in the Development Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York, NY. This is a hybrid role that has in-office requirements of two (2) days per week or eight (8) days per month.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

Reporting to the Director of Development Data & Systems, the Assistant Director will work collaboratively with the Development Data & Systems team, the Nationwide Fundraising Resources team, the Analytics team, and ACLU fundraisers to develop an overall structure for business intelligence and user reporting.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • In collaboration with ACLU’s national and affiliate fundraising community, the DDS team, and the Analytics team, manage a set of tools and resources for business intelligence and user reporting used for fundraising, including evaluating stakeholder needs, working within existing org-wide BI & reporting tools, selecting, procuring, and implementing on-platform Salesforce reporting tools for Development, monitoring and managing performance, and ensuring data governance compliance
  • Work with Nationwide Development Resources team, National Development Team, and DDS roadmap team to identify and prioritize needs, roadmap projects, and deliver new resources
  • Research market and select tools to fit the needs of the user, navigating high-volume data challenges and complex data environments to identify tools that are compatible, and still intuitive, useful, and easy for users to use
  • Design and work with vendors to develop dashboards and other business intelligence resources, complex and standard reports. Serve as primary vendor liaison for Development-owned non-Salesforce reports and dashboards
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Support team to identify alternate solutions for and migrate under-performing on-platform reports
  • Manage National and nationwide projects using a hybrid of waterfall and agile techniques
  • Manage and troubleshoot Development-owned business intelligence and reporting tools and resources, proactively working with vendors and internal tech teams to solve problems
  • Manage and maintain summary fields and related models and syncs that push summary data into CRM
  • Communicate and document workflows, best practices, and policies for Development users nationwide

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Experience with cloud-based constituent relationship management software and data warehouses, such as Salesforce, Redshift, Hightouch, and related platforms
  • Experience building dashboards and data visualizations using business intelligence tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience managing large, complex implementation of CRM reporting tools
  • Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with data engineering

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Capacity to take initiative and work independently, as well collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills including ability to positively influence and persuade, and to use listening, diplomacy, and tact to build internal relationships
  • Experience working at a national or international organization in constituent data management

COMPENSATION

The ACLU values equity, transparency, and clarity in pay. Consistent with the ACLU's compensation philosophy there is a set salary for this role. The ACLU also has a locality adjustment policy that applies to salaries. The annual salary for this position is $115,782 (Level G), reflecting the salary of a position based in New York, NY. This position is subject to a hybrid schedule of 2 days/week or 8 days/month in-office.
