Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller will be a key member of the accounting and reporting leadership team reporting to the Controller. The ideal candidate will oversee and direct all general ledger and consolidation and reporting and related internal controls. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing GL accounting, payroll, equity, SEC reporting and compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger accounting, consolidation and reporting related to a publicly traded technology company
  • Lead teams responsible for  general ledger accounting and reporting in the daily operations, accounting close and performance of internal controls  
  • Assist the Controller in development, implementation and oversight of company-wide accounting policies, practices, and internal controls consistent with SEC, US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley S404 compliance
  • Oversee general ledger, equity and payroll accounting and all GL financial transactions
  • Coordinate reporting and consolidation of U.S. and foreign entities and ensure timely reporting  
  • Review and perform internal controls over accounting and financial reporting and support SOX compliance and testing
  • Lead compliance of technical accounting matters including equity accounting, business combinations, goodwill assessment, capitalization of software development, income taxes, and lease accounting
  • Manage and develop accounting team with a focus on career growth and enhancement
  • Interact with external auditors as it relates to the annual financial statement audit and quarterly reviews
  • Prepare financial statements and SEC reporting and disclosure
  • Manage financial systems and service providers.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • B.S or Masters in Accounting
  • CPA Required
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Strong leadership and technical accounting skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a public company environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be nice, smart and get things done
  • Experience with Oracle a plus

Must be able to work out of our Boston office 2-3 days a week
