The Overview:

R&CPMK is seeking an Assistant Account Executive based in the greater Los Angeles area to join our Consumer PR team.

The role provides a great opportunity to advance your skills in writing creative pitches and press releases, as well as conducting outreach to media in a strategic and professional manner to secure coverage for clients. Additional responsibilities include creating media lists, brainstorming and researching client press opportunities, and monitoring and circulating press coverage to clients.

Fine Print :

  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and competitive landscape relevant to clients
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of press materials, including media lists, pitches, press releases, etc.
  • Monitor press clippings for clients, track media impressions and relevant metrics, and create/maintain coverage reports and grids
  • Perform daily account management duties, including facilitating media requests, meeting scheduling, developing agendas, taking meeting notes and monthly reporting
  • Manage incoming press requests and some pitching of stories to media outlets
  • Create and edit client press schedules, briefing books, etc.
  • Coordinate and staff client events, as needed
  • Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorms and client calls/meetings
  • Support the larger team by managing multiple projects at a time

The Needs:

This role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented and enthusiastic team member that can multi-task and is interested in supporting a cross-section of clients including consumer products, toys and gaming.

  • 6 months of PR experience; large agency/client experience is preferred. Agency internships can count toward this
  • Some experience targeting media, pitching and placing stories
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and pride in delivering quality results and understanding the business impact
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Self-directed, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Drive, Muckrack, Cision, Critical Mention
  • Familiar with media platforms Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat
  • Ability to professionally interact with clients

Salary: $40,000.00- $45,000.00 annually
