ispace-US is looking for an Assembly, Integration and Test Technician to join the manufacturing group and support operations across Propulsion & Structures Systems on our APEX 1.0 Lander. This role will be supporting manufacturing activities on existing product designs and assist new hardware development in the early design phase, while providing critical design for manufacturability input.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and test flight hardware.
- Use precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers.
- Manufacturing using a variety of specialty tools including crimping tools, epoxy applicators, tap & die sets, deburring tools, rotary tools, drill press & bandsaw.
- Hands on operations with both large and small fragile sub-assemblies
- Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- Perform high pressure pneumatic testing.
- Assist engineers in reviewing design concepts, providing feedback for improvements
- Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
- Collaborate with production engineers and quality personnel to develop and document activities through work instructions and non-conformances.
- Ensure all production services are performed on time, safely and in a professional manner.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- At times work in an ISO class 8 clean room for certain precision assemblies and tests.
- May include some short duration travel to Washington, California, or Florida for assembly, integration, test, and launch activities.
Basic Qualifications
- A&P License preferred but not required
- Previous experience with High-Detail, low volume assembly hardware
- Experience with flight hardware in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with mixing/applying adhesives, epoxies and coating material
- Experienced Forklift Operations & Overhead Crane Operations
- CNC Tube bending or orbital tube welding experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with GD&T principles
- Be physically able to lift/carry 35lbs, perform climbing operations, and work in tight spaces
- Experience working within the MS office suite
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary based upon experience - $70,000-$90,000. The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
