About You:
We are looking for an innovative software engineer specializing in automatic speech recognition (ASR) to create end-to-end ASR systems geared toward aviation domains. Someone who enjoys researching and implementing state of the art ASR systems and finding ways to make them excel at unique use cases within aviation.  Someone ready to work at the intersection of research and product development and has a strong track record for delivering and maintaining high quality software.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead ASR research, design, and development.
  • Design and implement ASR systems for aviation applications such as air traffic control communication.
  • Develop algorithms and models to improve speech recognition accuracy and reliability in noisy and challenging environments.
  • Research and stay up to date with the latest advancements in ASR technology.
  • Work with the larger NLP team to integrate the ASR system with downstream components.
  • Work with project teams to understand requirements and concepts of operation (conops) for the ASR system.
  • Generally contribute to the natural language processing team by following our software and model development process and writing software to integrate work into the larger system.
  • Learn the aviation domain in which the ASR system will function.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Robotics, Natural Language Processing, or a related subject. MS or PhD. preferred. 
  • 7+  years experience in designing and developing automatic speech recognition systems.
  • Experience scaling systems to make them high performing given larger scope
  • Fluency in python and either PyTorch or Tensorflow.
  • Experience with linux, open source development tools, software development process and version control tools such as git and weights and biases.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with Hugging Face and model tracking tools such as weights and biases or tensorboard.
  • Experience deploying models in production environments.
  • Knowledge in the aviation space.
