esure Group have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Underwriter to join the team!
The role holder will be responsible for providing a supportive role in implementing esure’s strategy to optimise customer outcomes and profit for non-core products and additional services revenue.
With a growing understanding of the marketplace and the strategic direction of travel in this space, you will input into our customer centric, science-based approach to building class leading solutions. You will work closely with multiple business areas across the esure estate to ensure results meet or exceed budgeted performance criteria.
The day to day:
- Provide input on ASR/AIP for customer and internal projects and programs.
- Monitor emerging opportunities and risks within the role's scope.
- Recommend actions for business and customer outcomes, seeking mentorship when needed.
- Apply industry, regulatory, and technical insights to boost profit, efficiency, and competitive edge.
- Contribute to product roadmap development and market expansion projections.
- Collaborate with Portfolio UW Lead on product strategy, identifying opportunities and threats.
- Work with partners and suppliers to optimize customer and business value.
- Support product design or redesign based on evolving customer needs and value propositions.
- Build relationships with claims teams for effective repair/replace and claim defense strategies.
- Collaborate with Pricing to assess and leverage role-relevant opportunities and impacts.
You are a good fit for the role if you have the following:
- Proven underwriting experience.
- Ability to deliver profitable business through risk mix and performance management.
- Hard-working approach with motivation and enthusiasm to successfully complete tasks.
- Experience working effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of digital, telephone, online, and aggregator distribution channels.
- Understanding of underwriting and trading through current technologies like machine learning.
- Ability to use products and propositions to improve customer appeal and dedication.
- Awareness of potential business opportunities and threats.
- Growing knowledge of the regulatory and legal framework for personal lines.
