ASAP start - 1:1 Part-Time Teaching Assistant

Based in a small Primary school, you will be working as a 1:1 support with a Year 2 pupil who has Additional Learning Needs. The school has a close-knit staff base, with mixed classes from Nursery to Year 6. 

Nestled in a small town in the South Wales Valleys, around 20 minutes North of Caerphilly, the school are looking for someone willing to create long lasting working relationships with both staff and pupils. Having a car is not essential, however; may be preferable given the working hours.

The role is confirmed for 5 days a week, on a part-time basis. You will be working from 08:30 to 12:30 each day. You will be paid a minimum of £40 per day, with the daily rate negotiable dependant on experience. 

Your daily duties will include: 

• Following lesson plans set by the class teacher. 
• Delivering literacy and numeracy sessions.
• Recording pupil progress and liaising with the class teacher to create lesson materials for the following day. 

Requirements

• Have experience working with pupils aged 3-11 with additional learning needs.
• Have worked in a Primary school or similar educational setting for at least 40 days over the last 2 years.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Primary curriculum.
