This position is fully remote within +/- 2h of France. 

Team

Our Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Our 'Core' games team supports internal and external studios worldwide in creating, developing, and launching new hit games, whilst our 'Live' games team focuses on delivering higher engagement on our existing and successful games.

Joining our Live games team means collaborating with gaming industry experts on globally renowned, enduring games while embracing exciting new entrepreneurial ventures. With over seven billion downloads worldwide and a portfolio of more than 10 resilient hybrid games generating more than $20m per year, we are the world's largest and most successful hybrid publisher.

Voodoo is creating a new Casual Studio with a big mission: find the next best way to entertain the world by taking our best hits to a new level. You will join a team that is growing but still small, composed of veterans from the industry, where you will participate in every aspect of development, from ideation to testing the casual games in the market.

You will be joining one of our Live Studios, working on  Monster Survivors.

Role

  • Define the creative vision and direction of a live game, ensuring a cohesive and appealing visual style.
  • Lead the design and development of game assets, including characters, environments, and user interface elements, with a focus on creating a memorable player experience.
  • Drive the enhancement of the game with striking visual effects (VFX) and fluid animations, setting high standards for visual quality.
  • Coordinate closely with development teams to integrate artistic elements in Unity, addressing technical challenges through innovative solutions.
  • Guide the use of 2D and 3D techniques to elevate game visuals, making strategic decisions based on the game’s needs.
  • Champion the adoption of advanced art production tools and techniques to streamline workflows and improve asset quality.

Profile

  • Hands-on 3D Generalist with extensive experience in art direction within the mobile gaming industry.
  • Proven track record of successful projects and expertise in setting up the art direction for Live Games (at least 3 years of experience) 
  • Mastery of Photoshop, Unity, and Blender (or equivalent 3D software), with a deep understanding of their application in game development.
  • Strong technical acumen to optimize assets and workflows for mobile platforms, ensuring efficiency and high performance.
  • Solid artistic foundations with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering visually stunning games.
  • A collaborative leader, skilled in fostering teamwork and communication, adept at giving and receiving feedback to drive creative excellence.
  • Passionate about the mobile games market, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a commitment to leveraging insights for game improvement.
  • Proactive self-starter capable of influencing game design from the art side, including product and feature development, ensuring visual elements enhance the overall gaming experience.
  • Independent and proactive individual, adept at driving projects and initiatives with minimal supervision.
