The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer to join the team as Art Director of the FT Weekend Magazine. You will be highly committed with the energy and creativity to drive forward the design of the print magazine, as well as its online development.
What we're looking for
The job requires strong visual flair, an extensive background in magazine design and a wide network of contacts to attract top contributors for magazine covers, features and special projects. Experience in art direction for photo shoots is highly desired. Demonstrated skill in conceiving and executing covers that make waves is required, as is designing magazine packages and special issues.
The art director should have experience of managing a team, including freelance designers when necessary, and be able to work closely with the magazine’s editors and photo team as well as with the editorial and photography desks across FT Weekend. The successful applicant must have the ability to deploy resources with maximum creativity.
We are looking for someone to further develop the magazine’s online presence, who can generate original ideas about how to project long-form stories and photos online, and find ways to promote its content across FT.com and socials.

How we work
Our hybrid setup means staff are encouraged to come into the office 3 days a week.
Our office is located across the street from St. Paul's Cathedral and is easily accessible from all corners of London. There are the main train terminals such as Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Blackfriars, City Thameslink or Waterloo all situated within walking distance or there are several tube stations within a few mins walk such as Mansion House, St. Paul's, Bank or Barbican.
