Cortica is looking for a full time Area Medical Director - Pediatrician to join and oversee our growing team in Los Angeles County!

As the Area Medical Director, you will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with administrative leaders to support your sites’ medical staff across centers in the delivery of care as well as provide direct care to Cortica patients (up to 80%). Your administrative tasks may include support for interviewing candidates, supervising onboarding, training, and clinical care, career mentorship, and participation in clinic team building.
What will you do?

Complete direct patient care and time for chart review, encounter documentation, and patient-care related activities done on the same day as a billed patient visit. *Patient care activities will be prorated based on number of direct reports.
- Recruit new physicians and nurse practitioners, including supporting the interviewing/screening process by Talent Acquisition and/or Executive teams.

Welcome prospective physicians and/or nurse practitioners to visit your "home" site for direct patient care observation supporting orientation experience.
- Ensure new physicians and nurse practitioners complete established Medical Practitioner Training curriculum in timely manner.
- Establish Cortica’s presence as a leader in neurodevelopmental care through business development, community outreach, and payer relations.
- Provide clinical support each week for each direct report.

Participate and/or lead team meetings, program-building, supervision, mentorship, and employee engagement. Team meetings may include, but are not limited to:
-NDM faculty meeting
-Area weekly rounds
-Site leadership meeting
-Collaborative case conference
-Area Medical team meeting (Site Medical Directors)
- Lead, inspire and motivate Area Medical team to align and execute on the organization’s vision and provide performance coaching as needed for individuals not meeting goals.

Develop a deep understanding of clinical and operational KPIs set for the medical program and executes to goal across all sites within your area.

Clinical metrics (whole child scorecard).
- Operational metrics (*ex.: NEV’s, RVU’s, research enrollment).
We’d love to hear from you if:

You have completed Medical School from an Accredited University.

You have completed a Residency or Fellowship in Child Neurology.
-
You are Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Child Neurology, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, or other related specialty.

You currently possess an unrestricted medical license in California or have the ability to obtain one before the start date.
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership position.
Your Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range for this opening is $223,913 - $291,086. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
