Applied Research Internship - Model Forgetting

About the Role

• Conduct cutting edge research about model forgetting
• Disseminate your results to the scientific community
• Participate in open sourcing your results and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate them in the relevant libraries

About you

You enjoy working with diffusion models and have a strong understanding of how they are built and trained. You grasp the ethical aspects and limitations of data used to train for these models, especially with respect to data collection, data use consent, and ownership. You feel passionate about these models’ social impact and how they affect data owners and creators. You want to understand how to make said models forget specific information (PII, unconsented material, use-restricted data, ...).

Some of our requirements for this role:

• MS or PhD in Machine Learning or relevant technical field
• Strong knowledge of Python and an enjoyment of programming
• Proven ability to do research and communicate around it
• Experience with the Transformers library would be a plus
• You should also be comfortable working in a decentralized environment, often coordinating asynchronously across different time zones, as supervision will be both France and US-based.

Preferred Location

Ideally, you are based in Paris, but we are open to remote work for the right candidate.
