As an Application Support Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the functionality of our customer’s applications in production environment. Your expertise in technical support, troubleshooting, and collaboration with programming teams will be essential. You’ll analyse software requirements, ensure smooth operation, and assist end-users in effectively utilizing our customer’s applications
Key Responsibilities:

Business Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure technical solutions support business goals.

Production Support: Provide advanced support for critical production systems, ensuring high availability and performance.

Issue Management & resolution: Troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues, minimizing downtime and impact on business operations. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to our product, specifically those involving change requests, code correction, data manipulations etc.

Business Configuration: Manage user access, roles permissions, several business configurations, systems configurations as part of the ongoing application support and maintenance activities.

Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analyses for major incidents and implement preventive measures.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for production systems, incident reports, and standard operating procedures.

Change Management: Participate in change management processes, ensuring smooth implementation of changes with minimal disruption to production systems.

Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a technical support or similar role, with a focus on Java-based applications.

Customer Support Skills:
- Strong experience working as Senior/ Lead Production Support Engineer in Java based applications.
- Strong business analysis experience and mindset which enables the candidate to understand business functionalities, workflows, screen flows, user journeys, API specifications and data model applications under the scope of production support.
- Good working experience of directly interacting with customers for issue identification and resolution.
- Strong understanding of configurations of applications, servers, cloud and infrastructure.

Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Java programming (Java 8+) and debugging.
- Good understanding of WebSphere Application server configuration, deployment and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and other relational databases.
- Strong experience working with AWS cloud platform.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible.
- Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a passion for helping others.
Desirable good to have skills:
Good understanding and working experience in publishing Industry such as developing and maintaining platforms for digital content distribution, Implementing features like subscription management, content personalization, and analytics etc.
