We are seeking an Android Software Developer. As a Developer, your guidance and input drive architecture and functionality decisions. This role is not remote and based in our Boston (Charlestown) headquarters.
What you will do:
- Play a mission-critical role in defining, designing, implementing and shipping new features

- Leverage modern architectural patterns and third-party libraries to deliver new features
- Own code quality and maintainability by writing unit and integration tests
- Enforce code styles and best practices via code reviews and mentorship

Requirements
- 2-3 year experience working in a team shipping production Android apps
- Strong analytical and technical skills and high level of detail orientation
- Kotlin expertise is required, or strong Java and medium Kotlin skills
- Advanced proficiency with Android Studio, profilers, debuggers, git, and bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- Expertise in modern clean architecture patterns such as MVC, MVP, MVVM, and MVI
- Prior work in an Agile environment (Scrum preferred)
- Genuine desire and commitment to always learn, improve, and produce the best work possible
- NOTE: Candidates must be authorized to work in the US for any employer in order to be eligible for this role
Nice to have:
- Proficient in using Jetpack libraries such as LiveData, DataBinding, and ViewModel
- Experience working with Jetpack Compose is preferred
- Knowledge of web services, specifically REST APIs and GraphQL
- Hands-on experience building features from initial concept to production ready
- Familiarity with IOT, RFID, Linux and Docker are helpful
