About the Team

Analytics at Wolt is a business-critical competence team that covers Analytics Engineering, Data science, and Data analytics. In total, we are a team of 60+ professionals, all united by our excitement to put Wolt’s valuable data assets into everyday use.

As the name suggests, our Finance and Fintech Analytics team’s main goal is to dig into financial data as well as data points generated by the fintech related services in order to not only ensure financial compliance but also to understand the business through the lens of our domain. 

About the Role

We're looking for awesome people to join Wolt as an Analytics Engineer role in Helsinki, Stockholm or Berlin. We have Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers working as embedded data professionals in different business domains and now we’re looking to grow to the next level of maturity and establish proper analytics teams in these domains. 

As an Analytics Engineer, you will be the partner for the business leaders and product leaders in the Finance & Fintech domain. You’ll work closely with Product Leads, Software Engineers, Finance Managers and External Consultants.

Domain overview

You’ll be a part of the Fintech analytics embedded in Finance and Fintech Domain!

Wolt as a platform focuses on serving three main groups: The Customers, the couriers and the merchants. In a nutshell, the Fintech Group strives to empower global commerce and drive financial inclusion for individuals and businesses. Their core mission is to ensure compliance and finance data integrity, reduce finance OPEX and to support other product initiatives.

Fintech Analytics is an embedded analytics function within the Fintech Group. The team works to unlock insights related to the invoice fiscalization,  payments, fraud, merchant borrowing, courier payouts and credit ecosystem. Those are turned into actionable recommendations which drive the success by identifying gaps and opportunities at Wolt. While keeping Finance & Fintech at heart, the analytics team focuses on all kinds of analytics projects such as data modeling, design of pipelines, creating dashboards to describe the business and deriving insights from them.

FAQ:

- I’ve never worked in fintech before nor do I have a finance background. Is this a blocker for me to be an Analytics Engineer in this domain?

Exposure to both is highly appreciated but not a must as we are willing to teach you and you will learn on the job. All you need is the desire to learn.

- What am I going to work on? 

Initially, the majority of the tasks will be related to creating datasets, wrangling data and reconciling their accuracy. At a later stage, there will be plenty of opportunities to create dashboards in order to serve the needs of stakeholders and to participate in various projects. 

- Will I be able to work across other domains? 

You will have opportunities to work with data and on projects related to other domains as well. Fintech Group does not impact only financials as one might think but also influences couriers, merchants and other domains  to a certain extent. Besides that, we encourage junior colleagues to get exposed to other domains as it will give them an understanding of where they want to build their additional competency in their career path.

Our Humble expectations:

• 2+ years of experience in data related roles - data engineering, business intelligence or analytics engineering.

• Expertise with SQL and ETL tools (Airflow, dbt or similar) 

• Have prior experience building intuitive data visualizations and dashboards that influence business decisions, utilizing tools like Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker, or similar.

• Relentless pursuit of new ideas and data sources, and have the ability to systematically tackle ambiguous problems with a data-driven, hypothesis-based approach.

• Ability to influence senior leadership to make critical decisions

• Clear and concise communication with strong cross-functional partnership experience

• You are able to work and communicate effectively in English
