Analytics Engineer

AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates access to medical technologies. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. Our platform helps MedTech companies get these products to physicians more effectively so they can improve patient care with the latest technology. In this role, you will build and refine AcuityMD’s data assets and products and you will extend our data platform capabilities. You will build data pipelines to obtain new data, improve the quality and coverage of existing data, and transform these data into a scalable platform that fuels our MedTech-specific modules. You will report to the Engineering Manager, Data, and work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and other teams..

The Data Team is on a mission to transform raw data into assets that directly generate sales for our customers and help to bring cutting edge medical technology to the patients that need it most. We acquire terabytes of data from diverse sources, and refine them with modern data processing tools and machine learning algorithms. Our team applies principles from software engineering to analytics code, including version control, continuous integration and development, and orchestration. We make it easy for stakeholders to easily navigate and locate data, and understand the transforms that produced it.

Responsibilities

  • Model new data and improve existing data products to inform the overall roadmap
  • Transform and integrate raw data from multiple sources into usable, documented data products at an appropriate quality to application and business consumers
  • Work directly with cross-functional stakeholders to and subject matter expertise to design data models and success outcomes or quality criteria
  • Communicate and disseminate technical and domain-specific learnings to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Implement and measure key metrics alongside data transforms to maintain and improve data quality over time

Your Profile

  • You have 5+ years of experience working in a data engineering or analytical role.
  • You have built complex data transforms and pipelines as part of a cross-functional team using a programming language such as Python.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, version control and dbt.
  • You have demonstrated ability to explore, transform, and analyze data using SQL.
  • You have experience with data orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, Data Factory etc.
  • You communicate complex business concepts, technical requirements, recommendations and code clearly and concisely

  • Healthcare domain knowledge
  • Familiarity with the GCP suite
