SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a seeking a Systems Engineer with applied digital engineering (DE)/model-based engineering (MBE) experience to support the Allied Future Surveillance and Control (iAFSC) across the USAF and NATO enterprise.
What You'll Do
Provide Aerial Layer Network (ALN) and Tactical Data Link (TDL) expertise to help inform U.S. and NATO program members on policy for tactical networking decisions
Provide iAFSC leadership with expert opinion on the airborne communications governance process and structure
Help maintain awareness of threats to airborne communications and advising on impacts and mitigation approaches
Provide SME support with a solid understanding of cyber networks, cybersecurity, management of these systems and how all interface and communicate
Help inform customer with way ahead for Low Probability of Detection (LPD) Advanced TDLs
Provide SME support to evaluate communication hardware and software, provide technical expertise for acquisition and policy support of military communications for Airborne domains
Incrementally help build the Mission Architecture through development of Mission Thread (MT) and Mission Engineering Thread (MET) models using commercial-off-the-shelf visual modeling tools, such as Magic Draw/Cameo
Establish common data model across all MT/MET models. Maintain awareness of concurrent activities by working in a common modeling database across the organization
Using statistical data analysis and modeling you will identifying & develop metrics to measure and analyze relevant system properties, such as resiliency, interoperability, quality, robustness, and maintainability
Articulating major uncertainties associated with systems architectures, defining risks and opportunities associated with the uncertainties
Translating analysis results into actionable recommendations for the USAF and NATO
Supporting requirements management, interface management and architecture change management processes
What You'll Bring
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, physics, or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge of Department of Defense acquisition reform initiatives. Should be familiar with DoD 5000 series acquisition regulations
Experience:
Experience supporting DOD ACAT programs is desired
SECRET Security Clearance required to start
Ways to Stand Out – Preferred Requirements
Experience with the airborne warning and control system, or AWACS, aircraft and mission
Experience using modern model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools modeling architectures of complex systems of systems using standards-based languages (ex. SysML)
Demonstrated ability to execute technical work in complex, muti-disciplinary and ambiguous situations
Strong written, communication, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to strengthen international relationships through technology collaboration and common interest between NATO countries and NATO Commands
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required
