Overview  

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are in search of a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in 4-5 AFC simultaneous activities such as projects, as well as Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and pre-FEED activities. 

This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the success of our sustainable technology initiatives and demands strong managerial skills, technical expertise, and experience in project management. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the engineering activities related to the design, construction, and startup of AFC power plant facility projects. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-performance power solutions. 

 Responsibilities 

  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. 
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members. 
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop engineering plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budget constraints. 
  • Oversee the execution of engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. 
  • Utilize your technical expertise to review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and calculations. 
  • Conduct technical analyses to optimize plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. 
  • Ensure that all engineering activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices. 
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals. 
  • Collaborate with finance and project management teams to develop and manage engineering budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. 
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and procurement teams, to ensure seamless project integration. 
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.  
  • Responsible for overseeing the operation and execution of technology integration into multiple projects.
  • Management of all engineering processes and procedures for assigned technology.  
  • Setting and developing standards and procedures for engineering and project execution.  
  • Develop, manage, review, and approve the technical design and applicable documents and assist in administering and monitoring both in-house and Contractor engineering teams during studies, Pre-FEEDs, FEEDs and/or EPC phases of a project, including during the detailed engineering and design and procurement phase.  
  • Provide technical direction and engineering support during construction, commissioning, and start-up.  
  • Produce, review, and approve design specs, data sheets and documents.
  • Works collaboratively with the Project Management, Commercial, JV partners and clients to ensure timely deliverables.  
  • Responsible for ensuring quality, technical contract compliance, design completeness, schedule, and risk mitigation. 

 Essential Skillset, Education/Qualification, Certification Attainment  

  • Minimum 15 years’ proven experience of Engineering and Project Management within the industrial gases, power generation, or related energy industry.  
  • Experience developing engineering and document management processes and procedures.  
  • Strong knowledge in engineering and construction standards, materials, and company/vendors processes.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. 
  • Experience in P&ID and mechanical package development.  
  • Ability to mentor and educate the Engineering team in best practice.  
  • Experience of IGCC or similar technology preferred.  
  • Strong attention to detail and experience developing standards and quality procedures. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

 Desirable Skillset, Education/Qualification, Certification Attainment 

  • Experience in an Owners Engineer or PMC position.
  • PE is a plus. 
  • PMP is a plus.
