Advertising Sales Director Spain and Portugal
About the role:
We are looking for a highly experienced manager with excellent leadership skills and experience in building business and teams. This person needs to have excellent communication skills, have a proven track record of achieving challenging revenue goals and have a very strategic mindset. They need to arrive with initiatives to help continue to grow the Spanish market. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, analytical and have strong relationship management skills.
The role will be based in Madrid and reporting into the Country Manager for Spain and Portugal.
Responsibilities and skills:
- Manage and develop the Spain sales team based in Madrid while fostering a collaborative environment that mirrors Taboola’s values and industry excellence
- Achieve quarterly revenue targets, with a significant focus on client retention as well as scaling up the existing advertising book of business
- Design and lead the delivery of annual strategic plans with Sales and collaborating closely with AM team for top advertisers and agencies to ensure their loyalty and sustainable growth
- Engage regularly with advertisers and agencies representing the company and keeping them update about Taboola’s value and new capabilities, keeping the company on client’s top of mind
- Elicit client feedback to act as internal advocate for our clients
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing and Technical Support teams teams to create positive client experiences and drive ongoing development of client solutions to meet market demand
- Oversee the onboarding, training, performance management, career development, coaching and mentoring of the team
- Oversee internal education and training program for team members to ensure team is setup for success, have a thorough understanding of Taboola’s policies and procedures, and are subject matter experts in their respective roles
- Understand business goals for book of business and anticipate needs to deliver optimal solutions
- Pipeline management: Build and maintain a clearly defined sales process for every type of client
- Represent local voice in international internal forums, spreading best practices, detecting opportunities and bringing new guidelines to the team
Requirements:
- 10 years of professional experience (client-facing in the digital advertising space is a must)
- Minimum 5 years experience managing and developing a team
- Outstanding relationship management and client service skills preferably with expertise of brands within premium agencies
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills: ability to identify & use data-driven insights to make the best choices for the business
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to translate big data in a commercial and simplified fashion
- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage tasks within a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate within a high-performing team
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
