The Admissions Assistant File Reader is a key seasonal support role, assisting in preparing, and evaluating, and processing more than 13,000 applications each year. The Admissions Assistant File Reader is central to accomplishing the timely review of application materials and in playing a role in the Admissions Selection Committee.
This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The minimum starting rate for the position is $25 per hour. It is a temporary position.
Core Responsibilities:
• Review and evaluate applications for first year admission using established application guidelines while working closely with a reading partner.
• Provide summary analysis for the Admissions Committee that reflects holistic review of all information found within the applicant's credentials.
• Participate fully in the Admissions Selection Committee.
• Update applicant records with multiple submitted materials including transcripts, test scores and supplemental material when necessary.
• Ensure accuracy in 13,000 applicant records and troubleshoot errors.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student records in compliance with state and federal laws in accordance with the Federal Education Records Protection Act (FERPA).
• Part-time position, with a minimum of 15-20 hours per week required and up to 35 hours per week available.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience working in high schools and/or colleges a strong plus, with special consideration given to those with experience in college admissions, college counseling, and/or classroom teaching.
• Extensive computer experience and strong computer skills required. Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM programs like Slate strongly preferred.
