The Work
The Human Resources department is looking for an Administrator is to assist with the day-to-day administration and to support various HR initiatives and projects.
The Core Responsibilities Of The Job:
- HR Administrator (85%)
- Prepare welcome packages for new employees
- Add new employees to all required lists and spreadsheets including training lists, benefits spreadsheet, recruiting methods tracking, etc. and check off once complete
- Send out “welcome” emails to new staff and managers prior to first day and first day emails to new employees
- Conduct new hire orientations, as required
- Input all new hires to HRIS from ATS and ensure that the self identification survey and the New Hire guided process are fully completed. Follow-up with employees for any missing information
- Follow up with employees and managers on outstanding forms, targets, final reviews, etc.
- Upload documents to HRIS for employee files
- Maintain and update HR procedures manual, as required
- Create employment verification letters for employees when requested
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding Dayforce, benefits, vacation, etc.
- Perform any HR administration task as assigned by CHRO, Senior Director and Senior Manager of HR
- Benefit enrollments
- Project Work (10%)
- Participate and assist with various special projects
- Research various topics and initiatives
- Health & Safety (5%)
- Attend all Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and take minutes
- Keep all JHSC, Fire Wardens and First Aid employee lists up to date
- Participate in health and safety workplace inspections as required
- Order all health and safety supplies and coordinate fire extinguishers and AED check-up
- Arrange annual Flu Clinic and Fire Warden Training
Let's Talk About You!
- Bachelor’s Degree or post-secondary education with a focus in Human Resources
- 1 year of administrative/HR experience
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent record keeping and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employees, pay and benefit information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce or similar HRIS software is an asset

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
