The Network Administrator is responsible for the daily operation, management, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, VoIP systems, and Wi-Fi networks. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of the network to support organizational operations and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Infrastructure Management:
  • Configure, install, and maintain network switches, routers, firewalls, and other network hardware.
  • Manage and optimize network performance, including monitoring traffic, resolving connectivity issues, and ensuring high availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to switches, routers, and other networking equipment.
  1. VoIP System Support:
  • Administer and maintain the organization’s VoIP systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Ensure VoIP services are reliable and of high quality, addressing any issues related to call quality, connectivity, or system integration.
  • Support the integration of VoIP with other communication tools and systems.
  1. Wi-Fi Network Management:
  • Design, configure, and maintain Wi-Fi networks to ensure optimal coverage, performance, and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Wi-Fi connectivity, including interference, signal strength, and access point configuration.
  • Monitor Wi-Fi usage and performance, and implement changes as necessary to enhance user experience.
  1. Network Security:
  • Implement and manage network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Monitor network traffic for signs of unauthorized access or security breaches.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and ensure compliance with organizational policies and best practices.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Prepare and review reports on network performance, issues, and improvements.
  • Document and track support requests, resolutions, and network incidents.
  1. Support and Troubleshooting:
  • Provide technical support for network-related issues, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to address complex issues and ensure smooth network operations.
  • Assist with network-related projects and system upgrades as needed.
  1. Network Optimization and Planning:
  • Analyze network performance and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
  • Plan and execute network expansion and enhancement projects to support organizational growth and technology advancements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve network infrastructure.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in network administration or a similar role, with hands-on experience managing switches, routers, VoIP systems, and Wi-Fi networks. 

 

  SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DDI(DNS, DHCP, IP Range management) and VPNs.
  • Experience with network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VoIP systems.
  • Proficiency in Wi-Fi network design and management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues effectively.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
