Position Summary
This position supports the Parts and Service Departments by expediting parts from Caterpillar and other suppliers along with other responsibilities.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Monitor non-Cat inventory and issue purchase orders for all locations as needed
- Build FS-1 and TAN&TBN samples kits for inventory
- Generate novelty inventory reports (monthly)
- Reconcile the Cat parts statement by the 5th day of every month
- Process daily Cat stock order for all locations
- Process Donaldson rebates (quarterly)
- Process customer Parts.Cat.Com registrations and setup new UCID’s as requested
- Generate monthly parts metrics and email to the stores
- Process backorders to Caterpillar and expedite for all locations
- Provide tracking information and process cancellations as requested
- Educate Parts & Service on Cat policies and procedures
- Order literature and process downloads as needed
- Manage the parts bin location printer. Order labels as needed and distribute newly printed labels to the appropriate store
Position Requirements
- Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a high school education or the equivalent
- One year of warehouse or inventory experience
- One to three years of data-entry and administrative experience
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, non-verbal, written and listening skills
- Solid understanding of work area metrics that corresponds to departmental dashboard. Accepts responsibility for improving the results and metrics within their control.
- Understands the value of 6 Sigma in improving the workplace and is a good contributor when asked.
- Exhibits many basic problem-solving skills within the scope of personal work area such as identifying problems, seeking other’s opinions, offering solutions and following through. Offers solutions for improving the workplace.
- Excellent customer service skills. Responds to requests with a sense of urgency. Treats internal customers as his/her highest priority. Takes personal responsibility when dealing with internal customers, keeping commitments and doing what he/she said they would do.
- Excellent computer skills including experience using Word and Excel and database systems
- Strong multitasking abilities, detail-oriented and self-motivated
- The ability to uphold professionalism with both internal and external customers including friendly, courteous treatment of peers, subordinates and internal customers
