Overview:
Sora is seeking an Adjunct (substitute) Teacher to engage with us on a contract assignment on the following dates: 11/12/2024 - 03/14/2025, with a possible extension.
Training will take place from 11/12/2024 - 11/30/2024.
The full time position is from 12/1/2024 - 3/14/2025. You must be available during these dates in a full time capacity to be considered for this role.

Adjunct (Substitute) Teacher
Duties include some or all of the following, depending on the specific need:- Leading learning experiences in keeping with Sora’s mission and vision- Providing formative and summative feedback to students- Managing the virtual classroom to ensure a positive and consistent learning environment- Convening house meetings as scheduled- Participating in faculty meetings as requested by the school leadership
Requirements - High School Candidates
Experience should be at the secondary or postsecondary level.
Subject areas for STEM: Experience in high school-level Mathematics. Especially in areas of Calculus and precalculus. Experience with either Physics or Chemistry.
Bonus points: Experience with virtual learning, Passion for independent learning, Familiarity with a variety of tech tools and platforms, Experience in a startup environment
Location and Pay
You may be located anywhere in the U.S. for this role and must be available to work hours across U.S. time zones.
From 11/12/2024 - 11/30/2024, pay is $30/hr for training.
From 12/1/2024 - 3/14/2025, pay is $5,200 a month and will be prorated during partial months for this assignment.
If you are selected, this position will be a long-term substitute position. After the dates for this engagement end, there may be a possibility for an extension as well as the opportunity to transition to an “on-call” substitute.
