ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER
Summary/Objective: The Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer evaluates existing additive processes and configures manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, improve quality, and develop best practices within Additive Manufacturing. The main focus of the Process Engineer’s work will be to understand and characterize key process variables, develop reliable process windows, and improve consistency and efficiency of Additive Manufacturing processes.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute experiments to identify key process variables using DOE type methodologies or other analytical methods.
- Develop manufacturing best practices, parameters, process windows, and work instructions that improve Additive Manufacturing operation.
- Use Six Sigma DMAIC process or other similar methods to determine root cause/solutions to process challenges.
- Use statistical methods and conduct process capability studies to determine if the process is meeting key process requirements.
- Develop process criteria to determine if Additive designs/processes are ready for full volume production.
- Collect and interpret data from other technical and operating staff involved.
- Perform engineering calculations based on statistical data and utilize that information to drive process improvements and implement effective manufacturing strategies.
- Develop/research new Additive Manufacturing methods that help advance the department & company long-term.
- Provide general guidance, direction, and support to other departments/sites that utilize Additive Manufacturing processes.
- Develop cross functional relationships that help promote and engrain Additive into the organization.

Required Experience:
- 3-5+ Years’ Experience in Additive Process Engineering. Manufacturing experience is desired. (Willing to adjust compensation/title for more than 5 year's experience)
- Strong computer skills, reporting, and data mining.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creative mindset.
- Six Sigma or Problem-Solving background is highly desirable.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- CAD skills/design experience.

Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, etc.).
