Hearsay is looking for an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist who will be a key contributor to the Corporate Accounting team! This position will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting and will involve frequent interaction and coordination with colleagues across the accounting and billing team as well as the FP&A team and other business
owners across departments.

As part of the Accounting Team focusing on the procure-to-pay process, you will help drive critical accounting functions, including vendor management, invoice processing, coding, and disbursements, participating in the travel and expense (T&E) process for employees, and preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for relevant general ledger accounts.

About the role:

  • Own the global Procure to Pay cycle, including processing vendor invoices with careful attention to detail over amount, proper approval, period of service, and appropriate general ledger coding, and coordinating ACH and wire payments.
  • Manage our vendor relationships, including participating in the procurement process, liaising with new vendors regarding tax and payment requirements, and replying to vendor inquiries.
  • Assist with processing and financial coding for non-vendor payments including employee travel and expense reimbursements and corporate credit card purchases.
  • Support the month-end close process through journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and vendor expense fluctuation analysis for relevant procure-to-pay accounts such as accounts payable, accrued expenses, and prepaid expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls including vendor management, invoice processing, cash management, and cash disbursements.
  • Assist with annual and ad hoc compliance efforts, including timely filing of Form 1099s and assistance with consolidated and statutory audits.
  • Design scalable processes and systems to streamline or eliminate manual work.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in accounting, accounts payable, or procurement required - technology industry or start-up experience is a plus.
  • Multinational experience required, US experience preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with existing accounts payable tools (NetSuite, Tipalti, Expensify) or similar tools is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented and deadline-driven with strong organizational skills.
  • Team player who works well independently and with others across all organizational levels, departments, and external third parties.
  • Desire to improve processes and systems through automation, technology, and reduce redundant or manual work.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Hungarian (both verbal and written).
