The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing and managing all invoices received for payment, ensuring accurate and timely payments. This role involves managing the day-to-day accounts payable function, reconciling accounts, and supporting the finance department in achieving financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, verifying their accuracy, appropriate approval, and compliance with company policies.
- Manage the accounts payable inbox and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure accurate reporting in the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end closing and prepare necessary reports.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Prepare analysis of accounts and assist with audits as necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven working experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Familiarity with vendor management processes.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including tax compliance and reporting.
