Seeking experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a government clients default residential housing program.  Proven experience in accounts payable, working in a system of record to extract, upload, and update data, work with the Senior Staff Accountant and possibly the Program Management Office (PMO) key personnel to ensure timely payments to contractors and utilities, assist with gathering data and invoices for invoicing the client, and utility activation and deactivation services.  
Account clerks responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·         Entering task orders and updating system of record as needed for utility payments, deactivation and activation of utilities, registering vacant property and unregistering properties upon sale of property , etc.
·         Ensure accurate recording of data for utility fields to guard against late, duplicate, or missed payments.
·         Monthly audit of utility task orders and bills received to ensure timely, accurate payments.
·         Review HOA fees and provide accounting for payment.
·         Assist Accountant as needed with regards to property utility payments, reports, HOA fee reviews, and possible real estate tax research, property registarization, reviews to ensure vendors are promptly paid.    
·         Assist Accountant with other necessary duties to ensure accurate record keeping and timely payment of all obligations for properties held by the client.

Experience - 

·          Excellent communication skills, including excellent phone etiquette and a demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in verbal and written forms and instant messaging environment with teammates.
·         Above average computer skills working in proprietary software environment and working in Microsoft Suites.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  ·         Ability to meet hard deadlines and work in fast-paced environment.

·         3+ years of accounting or similar experience is preferred in similar work environment (government contractor).

 Must pass pre-employment screening and undergo government suitability investigation.
