Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Supervisor to work at our downtown headquarters office. Under the general supervision of the Sr. Accounting Manager, the Accounting Supervisor is responsible for Agency general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, and cash receipts.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance-related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years general accounting and managerial experience required.
  • Non-profit and healthcare experience preferred.
  • Financial reporting and budgeting experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) year experience with financial applications background required.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and GAAP required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Accumatica or Netsuite a plus.
  • High level of proficiency using Excel data analytic tools & Word required.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience required. 
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
  • Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.
  • If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purpose, a valid CA driver license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required. 

About the Position:

  • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
  • Manages staff and activities within  Prepaid Expenses, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Accounts Payable and Accruals, and aspects of  Financial Reporting.
  • Prepare appropriate schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation for the Accounts Receivable entries on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare year-end 1099; expense reports, and various month-end duties.
  • Prepares timely and accurate financial reports and analysis for management. 
  • Maintains the integrity of general ledger, ensuring accuracy of all transactions and prepares general ledger entries.
  • Prepares appropriate schedules and supporting documentation for the balance sheet and income statement.
  • Ensures all balance sheet accounts under your areas of supervision, including Bank Reconciliations are appropriately reconciled.  This position will be responsible for the monthly analysis of balance sheet reconciliations for all PPLA balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensures that all Accounts Payable transactions follow current generally accepted Accounting principles.
  • Actively participates in the external audit process.
  • Prepares schedules and documentation for external reporting requirements.    
  • Responsible for the escheatment of stale checks.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reviewing all Accounting policies and procedures.
